OPEN Faith Hope Love 2017 is a gathering of faith leaders seeking a more just and generous world. This October 11th-14th, over 300 church leaders, lay leaders, volunteers, organizations, artists, and practitioners will gather for conversations, collaboration, and experiences as we call each other ever-forward.
The themes, Faith, Hope, and Love, will guide this year’s gathering, framing content and informing schedule in the following ways:
OPEN Faith - Conversations on theology, theopraxy and the world today. These sessions will be part lecture, part conversation and are intended to engage our intellect and the Bible in ways that inform our actions, worship and activism.
OPEN Hope - Collaboration on justice and activism through the lens of Christian spirituality these informal, conversational sessions are intended for organizations, faith communities or leaders to share how they are working towards justice, with an invitation for others to learn or join in their efforts.
OPEN Love - Experiences to re-humanize each other through lamentations, art and worship. We need art, worship, lament and contemplation to shape us as we work to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly in the world. Artists will also have an opportunity to sell their work in our Artists’ Co-op Space!
One-hour sessions will be scheduled throughout the day, ending at dinnertime. The evenings are open-ended for you to make connections through impromptu invitations and/or a variety of social and networking opportunities OPEN will host.
