I have a confession to make: I cannot stay motivated to do my strength training.
Let me back up a bit: I know I need to do strength training. I regularly train for marathons and I am clearly in my 40s, both of which would benefit greatly from consistent strength training. And yet, most weeks go by without a weight being lifted or a crunch being crunched.
But this article isn’t really about strength training. This article is about digital ministry.
It’s easy to think of digital ministry as a bandaid, something we grab in a moment of crisis or during a global pandemic, a temporary solution, something to cover a scrape and help us get by for the moment. But digital ministry is not a bandaid; digital ministry is a muscle. Five years ago it was a muscle we all stretched and developed, growing stronger and more flexible, and our ministry became the same. Only now, it’s easy to let the strength training slip, pushed to the side for “more important things.”
This is why Convergence is hosting our fourth Digital Ministry Online Summit beginning Monday, November 3, a week filled with conversations and resources that will empower and equip your ministry in digital spaces. Each of the four days will include videos you can watch, resources you can engage, and a daily Zoom call at 11:00 am ET to take these topics even deeper.
What is the intersection of ministry, activism, and digital community?
How do you build authentic relationships in digital ministry?
What are the boundaries and ethics of online ministry and digital activism?
These four days will give you practical tips and tools that you can use as well as offer a vision and imagination for what might be next in this ongoing experiment called “the Church.”
Listen in as I talk with the 2025 Convergence Digital Ministry Senior Fellows and other digital ministry leaders from across the country and around the world, a group workout to help us all strengthen the muscles we know are essential for ministry in our world today.
