Ministry Description

The FCC of today celebrates our founding in 1911 and remains a pillar of the Chappaqua community, and we also seek to serve the wider community. With the 2019 pandemic, we entered the technological age and started livestreaming our worship services. So, whether we are worshiping in our Sanctuary or outside or in our air-conditioned Centennial Hall, we are staying connected to those both near and far. FCC Chappaqua is a place where Joy, Hope, and Community Come Together. Our congregation is diverse, although we welcome even more diversity as we seek to fulfill our Open and Affirming Statement that all are truly welcome. FCC Chappaqua ministers to a congregation and wider community that is committed to doing Christ’s work first. Foremost through programs and events that directly aid those in need. Our deacon’s fund, which collects on the first Sunday of each month, is dedicated to offering direct financial assistance to community members who request it. The first Sunday of each month is celebrated not only with communion but also with a collection of food for Luke’s Pantry, a ministry started by our youth to collect donations for the Food Pantry of the Community Center of Northern Westchester. Central to many of our congregation's concerns, is the effort to build a diverse congregation centered on community and outreach. We treasure our participation in programs like the Emergency Sheltering Partnership and take great joy in community events to fundraise such as our Fall Fun Festival and Community Tag Sale.
